How We Got Here

To keep flat front wheels on the road surface with a leaning vehicle, it seemed the best choice was to use a front beam, like a canoe outrigger with the chassis pivot in the middle.

A lucky early realization was that there would never be a relationship between steering angle and lean angle. Algorithms to compute all the various speed, surface camber and corner radius would be ridiculously large. This meant the leaning of the vehicle could not have any influence on vehicle steering. Drawing Booklet Figs 7A through 9B sheds more light on this.

Among the original goals required wide flat front wheels and the appropriate leaning of the vehicle would be done automatically. No driver input allowed. Two prototypes have been built and tested. The goals have been met. Design of the production trike has been completed. The USPTO issued a utility patent for this work product on March 22, 2022. (US Patent 11,279,430, USĀ 11,753,105, & US 12,162,560)
